INTERESTED IN PARTICIPATING IN OUR RESEARCH?

We have two studies that we are currently looking for couples and families to participate in.

One study involves families (partners and their 4-5 year old child) and one study involves couples.

Please consider signing up to participate in one of these studies.

1.   FAMILY RESILIENCE AND WELLBEING

This project involves both parents and their children aged between 4-5 years. You can learn more details about this study here: Family Resilience and Wellbeing

Participation will involve two research phases:

Phase 1: The first phase will take place when your child is 4-5 years old. Participation will involve both parents completing an online questionnaire, and then families attending a lab-based session at the University of Auckland. Families will receive $180 for their time.

Phase 2: The second phase will occur one year later. Parents will complete an online questionnaire, and one parent and their child will attend a lab-based session. Families will receive $120 for their time.

We know families are busy. To accommodate your schedule, we can run research sessions throughout the week, including evenings and weekends.

If you are interested in participating, or want to hear more about what’s involved, send an email to familyresearch@auckland.ac.nz, or Sign Up Here.

2. COMMUNICATION AND MEMORY WITHIN INTIMATE RELATIONSHIPS

This project involves couples who have been together at least one year.

This researc

h investigates communication, partner dynamics and memory within intimate relationships. This research involves three parts.

Part 1: Couples will be asked to complete a 30 minute initial online questionnaire about their wellbeing and relationship.

Part 2: Couples will then visit the social psychology and close relationships lab at the University of Auckland and be asked to complete questionnaires about their r

elationship, and discuss with their partner (1) areas of conflict in their relationship as well as (2) areas of strength in their relationship while being recorded. This lab session will take around 2 hours, and couples will receive $100 (petrol or grocery vouchers) for their time.

Part 3: One-week later and then six-months after completing the initial research session, couples will be asked to complete another online questionnaire. Each questionnaire will take around 35-40 minutes. Couples will be reimbursed another $60 ($30 each, petrol or grocery vouchers) for completing these follow-up questionnaires.

All responses and recordings will remain completely confidential at all times.
